The SM7dB is Shure 's dedicated dynamic microphone for vocal recording, with a built-in preamp providing up to +28 dB of smooth, flat, and transparent gain, ideal for nearly any interface and Simple audio sequence. This is a version with better sound amplification than the SM7B for receivers that do not have this feature.

The Shure SM7dB delivers the sound you want for livestreams, podcasts, etc., but with the convenience of a built-in preamp that provides all the gain you need. This latest version of the XLR dynamic microphone makes it easy for podcasters, broadcasters, and musicians to get perfect vocals from any recording device.

Suitable for audio devices using XLR ports

The Shure SM7dB has a built-in preamplifier, providing enough power to work with any XLR device. The preamp's +28 dB gain preserves the microphone's frequency response to produce clear audio.

You only need a controller or mixer that provides +48V phantom power to operate the preamp on the mic. In case you don't need a pre-amp, the SM7dB has a left toggle switch to bypass the pre-amplifier for similar performance to the SM7B. You will not need to add other accessories to increase the sound of the mic.

Excellent noise cancellation

With a cardioid recording pattern and the ability to cancel sounds from behind, the SM7dB can isolate your voice from background noise, making this microphone ideal for non-studio recording spaces such as DIY studio at home.

Wide range of gain levels from the Shure SM7dB

If you are recording a loud sound source like a guitar speaker, you can use the +18dB level or omit the preamp. Light vocals will suit the full +28dB boost.

Does not lose the inherent sound quality of SM7B
